I became a law enforcement officer to help people. I have a very “I’ll fix that” or “I can help” personality that not only plays into my job but also in my personal life. When I got into my job, I was so proud that all the hard work I put into it got me to where I am today. I have worked so hard for my achievements and look to improve myself everyday. Due to certain circumstances, my mental health was declining and I did not really know what was going on. I started noticing my life and relationships become affected. I got to a point where I knew I needed to reach out. I was reminded that we also need to take care of ourselves so we can help others. I waited awhile to talk to anyone and I am glad I did. I was told my feelings were valid and that I am not the only one dealing with this. I began therapy and will continue therapy and I am grateful to everyone who made this possible. I have improved since my first session and am proud that I was able to speak up and start my process. I was suggested to reach out to Solider’s 6 and I am grateful they are able to help me. I look forward to beginning training and believe this will be a great help on my journey
