K-9 Ajax

K-9 Ajax

I have worked in Law Enforcement for over 15 years. There is so much that goes into this role, but I did not imagine what I would take on personally when I started in this career. Other than being a patrol officer, I have been a part of SWAT Negotiations Team for over 8 years, the Mental Health Unit, Use of Force Instructor, and have worked in the Juvenile Investigations Division. During this time, I have seen a lot of things and have always thought they were sliding out of my mind after some time. I came to realize there was a lot more that was not “sliding out of my mind” than I imagined. We are thankful that we were able to connect with Soldier’s 6 to not only receive support but to also see how many people they have impacted.

Dogs have an extra sense that humans just don’t have. They know when you need the extra love or laugh. Ajax tends to sense when any one of us in this family is feeling off and in need of support. We have no idea how he knows, but he just does. He has provided so much warmth and encouragement to us especially on the most difficult days.

When Ajax came into our family we had no idea the impact that he would have on us. Not only has he had such a positive impact on myself but he has brought so much love to our family. Ajax has impressed us with his training and has worked so hard to get to where he is at now. He knows exactly when he is working and when he can run freely and go play. He especially loves swimming, playing with the ball all day long and cuddling with us. We could not imagine life without him!
