Megan and K-9 Raven
K-9 Raven
My name is Megan and I have been a police officer for almost six years with the City of Farmington. Prior to becoming a police officer, I worked for the City of South St. Paul as a community service officer.
As a young child and into my adult years, I struggled to understand my why. I constantly strived for perfection only to learn perfection is subjective. I knew from a very young age I wanted to become a police officer. When I started, I was a happy go-lucky gal and slowly I lost myself.
Like many other first responders, I have had my fair share of critical incidents and I have seen how first hand how PTSD can affect someone. Specifically in 2023, I had many life changes. I struggled with an off-duty injury that kept me from returning to patrol, went through a divorce, lost friends, tragically lost my puppy Ray, and struggled with my self esteem. I have always been a vocal advocate for mental health yet when it came to myself, I thought the world would be better without me but what a privilege it is to be alive, often a concept we take for granted.
