Ryan and K-9 Jaxx

K-9 Jaxx

My name is Ryan and I am a Police Officer, a husband, and father of 3. I grew up in White Bear Lake and went to college at MSU Mankato. After returning home from college, I met my wife and got married in 2005. Then in 2009, we were blessed to have our first
child followed by another in 2011 and 2013. I am beyond thankful to have a healthy and thriving family along with the opportunity to celebrate my wife and I’s 20th wedding anniversary. (2025)
However, my journey to get where I am today hasn’t been the easiest. Like many of those who are reading this, one would be able to clearly see that my life’s journey is riddled with scares resulting from trauma, dysfunction, and chaos. My challenges started
early on in my childhood and continue well into my adult life, which looking back, I know now that this was GOD preparing and shaping me for when I became a Police Officer.
In 2016, I transitioned from Corporate America into Law Enforcement. Over the last 9 years as a Police Officer, I have had the honor to serve my community and department in various capacities. Past or present, I have been a Field Training Officer, SWAT Negotiator,
Community Engagement and Recruitment Team Member, Quick Response Team Member -Civil Unrest, Detective, Defensive Tactics / Use of Force Instructor, Reserve Advisor, Honor Guard Member, Union Steward, and D.A.R.E Officer.
Then in January 2023, suddenly my life came to a halt after being shot multiple times during a warrant arrest leaving me in critical condition. Over the next 6 months, through hard work and determination along with the unwavering support of my family, friends,
and co-workers, I was able to return to work. Although I am continuing to heal both mentally and physically, I am so grateful that GOD had greater plans for me and the community in which I serve.
Through all of my experiences, I know one thing is for certain, LIFE IS PRECIOUS! I’ve learned that no one is perfect, and that compassion is needed and grace is required. I’ve learned that I’m not perfect and life requires me to constantly work at being a better husband, father, co-worker, and servant to my community. But most of all, I am both humbled and thankful to have the opportunity to help others and make a positive impact in their lives.
Perfectly Imperfect,
Ryan
